- Beth
reported on the Cedar Lake District meeting she attended which was held on
Saturday, August 4th. The Land Trust’s activities for the
previous year were very well received by the group. The focus of her
presentation was partnerships and what can be accomplished though them.
- Pete
reported on the McMurtrie Preserve building design
meeting held on site earlier today. A decision to move forward with an
entrance roadway and parking lot design and scaled down building
construction with bathroom facilities was presented. Funds are available
for the proposed work. A tour of the DD Kennedy and Lake
Wapogasset
facilities is planned for August 23rd to obtain design ideas.
If all goes well, construction could be completed in 2007. A motion was
made seconded and approved to move forward.
- Stu reported on the presentation of a “carved eagle”

for the Horse Creek, South Cedar
Bay landing is on hand and

These will highlight points of interest alone the trails.
Consultant Cheryl Clemens will help with the wording of the signage and

the Menkes. There are still several options open
and will these will be pursued.
- The land
swap with Mick Anderson on the McMurtrie
preserve has been completed and recorded. Mick has agreed to a swap of
land that would provide us with property that would support septic system
and building options. It will now be full speed ahead with delayed
construction plans.

City. The SPLPT provided
sponsorship to this display. A half hog was given away to a lucky visitor
to the booth following a drawing held during the event. This drew many
visitors to the booth.
- Mike

groups came from Osceola and Amery. More outings are planned this fall and
winter when school gets back in session.
